Bio:

Scott Matthew Lippert, class of 2010, is a currently a prosecutor in North Carolina. While attending Miami, Scott majored in English Literature and Classical Humanities… and mock trial. Scott started mock trial as a sophomore under the tutelage of Lawrence Hilton. In his first year, Scott was part of a record-setting baby team, 995, that placed first among fifty teams at the 2007-2008 season Middle Tennessee State University tournament. 995 went on to tie 993’s regular season record, and, along with 992 and 993, secured a bid out of Louisville to Silvers.

The following year, as that team lost members and was reshaped, Scott joined 994 and helped turn that team from an 0-8 record in the regular season to an 8-0 record at the Cincinnati Regionals before going on to compete at Nationals.

In his final year of competition, the 2009-2010 season, Scott closed for the defense for team 992, helped secure a first place finish at the Beach Party tournament, contributed as substitute member of 993 to a sweep of GAMTI (3rd place finish), and was part of a top-ten nationals finish.

After undergrad, Scott attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law where he coached the school’s undergraduate team to their first Nationals appearance. Scott also coached UNC’s law school trial team for one season before moving to the Charlotte area. Scott is married to Michelle (Markham) Lippert, another Miami mocker alum.
